Tamil Nadu: Minor boy driving JCB excavator goes on rampage, damage several vehicles, building

Madurai (Tamil Nadu): In a bizarre incident, a 17-year-old boy drove a JCB excavator and rammed several vehicles, including three auto rickshaws, motorcycles, a car, signboards, and a portion of a building in the Sellur area in Madurai city in the early hours of Monday.

Police said the boy started driving the JCB excavator and hit the vehicles parked on the roadside, besides damaging a portion of a building and some signboards.

A security guard was injured in the incident and was admitted to the government hospital.

Locals said the boy drove the vehicle recklessly for half an hour before he was caught by some youths and handed over to the police.

The Sellur police have registered a case and are investigating the motive behind his violent act and also trying to find out whether the boy was under the influence of liquor or drugs.
