Hyderabad: Multizone-1 Inspector General of Police (IGP) A V Ranganath issued orders permanently removing Kaleshwaram Sub-Inspector of Police Bhavani Sen from service for sexually assaulting a female police constable.

The female head constable, who works at Kaleshwaram police station, lodged a complaint with higher authorities, leading to an investigation by the Bhupalpally Superintendent of Police (SP). The investigation confirmed that SI Bhavani Sen had sexually assaulted her at the gunpoint.

In addition to this case, SI Bhavani Sen has been accused of sexually harassing three other female police constables. A case was registered against him in the Rebbana Police Station of Asifabad district for an incident that occurred in July 2022.

SI Bhavani Sen's actions have severely tarnished the reputation of the police department. Given the gravity of the situation, IGP Ranganath decided to remove him from service permanently under Article 311 of the Constitution of India, without conducting any further inquiry, according to a police statement.
