Hyderabad: A 29-year-old student was seriously injured in a knife attack by an assailant in the state of Indiana, USA, on Tuesday.
According to sources close to the student's family, the injured student has been identified as Pucha Varunraj, originally from Mamillagudem in Khammam district, Telangana. Varunraj is currently pursuing MS degree at a university in Indiana.
The attack occurred as Varunraj was returning to his room after a visit to the gym when an assailant assaulted him with a knife, causing a severe wound to his forehead. Upon receiving the information, the police promptly transported Varunraj, who was unconscious, to a hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery.
Simultaneously, the police apprehended the assailant.
In light of the incident, Varunraj's father, Ram Murthy, who is employed as a teacher, has approached Telangana Transport Minister Puvvada Ajaykumar, seeking assistance to ensure his son receives the necessary medical treatment.
