Ballia (UP): A woman along with her paramour were arrested for the murder of her husband in Garhwar area of Ballia district in Uttar Pradesh on Monday, a senior police officer said.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Shankaran Anand said that the body of Babloo Paswan (35), a resident of Sikira Khurd village, was recovered from a well on Sunday.
"During investigation it was revealed that Babloo worked as a driver in Deoria district. His wife Pushpa Devi was having an affair with Sonu Paswan for a long time," he said.
He said that as Babloo was an addict he used to have disputes with his wife frequently.
"Perturbed with domestic discord Pushpa along with her paramour Sonu decided to kill Babloo. On October 28 when Babloo was in an inebriated state, they took him to the well, slit his throat with a sickle and threw his body in the well," he said.
The SP said that based on the investigation and facts the police arrested Pushpa and Sonu on Monday and have sent them to jail.
"The sickle used in murder and a spade were recovered on the identification of the arrested accused," he said. (UNI)
