Janjgir-Champa: A 11-year-old is under observation at a privately-owned infirmary in Bilaspur after he was brought out of an approximately 60-ft-deep borewell in Malkharoda block’s Pihrid village where a chapter of supreme human endeavour was scripted as a ceaseless rescue operation progressed doggedly for about 105 strenuous hours before dedicated officials could say ‘mission accomplished’.
A green corridor was created as an ambulance rushed the victim from Pihrid to Bilaspur divisional headquarters.
Rahul fell into the underground structure on Friday afternoon. Authorities rushed to the village where supply of oxygen, water, etc was arranged for the trapped minor. After he was rescued, a wave of joy swept over his parents Lala Sahu and Geeta besides other kin who wept tears of relief. They expressed heartfelt gratitude towards Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and his committed officers including those in the district administration who used a crane and other modern machines to dig a parallel roughly 65-ft-deep hole.
Mr Baghel prayed for the child’s rapid recovery and directed the executive to ensure that borewells are covered. (UNI)
