Srinagar: Two unidentified militants and a CRPF jawan were killed in an ongoing operation of the security forces in south Kashmir's Pulwama on Tuesday, official sources said.
They said on a tip-off about the presence of militants at village Bandzoo in Pulwama troops of Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police, CRPF and Rashtriya Rifles (RR) launched a joint search operation early this morning.
An encounter took place when security forces were moving towards a particular area after sealing all exit points in the village, they said adding two militants were killed. A CRPF personnel also lost his life in the encounter, they said adding search operation in the area was going on when the reports last came in.
Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kashmir, Vijay Kumar have paid tributes to CRPF martyr.
Meanwhile, additional police and Central Armed Paramilitary Forces (CAPF) have been deployed in the adjacent areas to prevent any law and order problem.
The authorities suspended mobile internet service of all Cellular companies, including Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) to prevent rumours.(UNI)
