UP govt recommends CBI probe into Hathras incident

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has recommended the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the Hathras incident.

The information of the CBI probe was shared by the CM through his twitter handle.

The decision was taken after a high level meeting chaired by the CM here in which DGP H C Awasthi, ADG law and order Prashant Kumar, ACS Home Awanish Awasthi and ACS Information Navneet Sehgal were also present.

Earlier, the DGP and ACS Home had met the family members of the victim girl in Hathras and heard their grievances.

They rushed back to Lucknow and informed the CM about their meeting and thereafter the decision was taken to recommend the CBI probe.

However, the SIT probe will continue till the matter was taken up by the CBI. (UNI)
