Ferozabad: The number of deaths due to viral fever and dengue in Firozabad and adjoining districts of Hatras, Kasganj and Mathura continue to rise.
During the last 24 hours, four patients died in Firozabad while two died in Hathras, three in Kasganj and one in Mathura. Most of them are children.
Health department officials here on Wednesday said that four more deaths were reported in Ferozabad on Tuesday, taking the toll to 58.
Dengue and viral fever have spread to 13 villages in In Mathura. Till four days ago, dengue and other types of viral were reported only in four villages. Now, it has spread to 13 villages. Health Department has confirmed death of 12 people in the district.
Meanwhile, a team of experts has reached both the districts.
Dr. SK Singh, Professor, Department of Pediatrics, King George's Medical University (KGMU) in Firozabad met the patients and Medical College Principal Dr. Sangeeta Aneja at the 100-bedded Hospital on Tuesday evening. He inquired about the illness, treatment and deaths of children. Dr Singh said that he will study the intensity of dengue and submit the report to the government.
On the other hand, Joint Director Health and Medicine Dr. Vikas Singhal and State Technical Officer of voluntary organization Path Dr. Amrit Shukla held a meeting with the Ferozabad CMO.
Similarly, Dr. Shambhu, Associate Professor of Ram Manohar Lohia Medical Institute Lucknow was in Mathura and started collecting information.
In Firozabad, classes from class one to eight has resumed on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Ms Anu Chaudhary, Registrar of the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR), has reached Mathura along with Pragya Priambada and Prashant Chauhan, advisors of the Commission on Tuesday. The team inquired about the condition of the children admitted in District Hospital, District Women's Hospital and Swarna Jayanti Hospital. The team inquired about the disease from their relatives.
