Kozhikode: The results of as many as 30 persons, who had come in close contact with the 12-year-old boy who succumbed to Nipah Virus in Kozhikode district on Sunday, have been tested negative for the virus.
This includes the results of the first batch of five high-risk contacts, including the mother of the 12-year boy.
Updating on the Nipah situation here on Wednesday, the Health Minister Veena George said the results of 21 more contacts are expected soon.
Presently, 68 persons are under observation or treatment at the Medical college hospital, the Minister said. Testing and surveillance is continuing, the Minister added.
Meanwhile, the Health, Animal Husbandry and Forest officials continue to trace the origin of the virus from in and around the house of the victim in Vazhoor near Mavoor near here. (UNI)
