Uttar Pradesh: 11 killed, 10 injured as stone-loaded truck overturns on pilgrims bus (VIDEO)

Shahjahanpur (UP): Eleven people were killed and 10 others were injured when a truck hit a bus carrying pilgrims in Khutar area of Shahjahanpur district here in Uttar Pradesh, a senior police officer said here on Sunday.
 
Superintendent of Police (SP) Ashok Kumar Meena said that the incident took place late on Saturday night when the truck loaded with stone overturned on the stationary bus at a dhaba near Tikunia. "11 passengers were killed in the incident whereas 10 others were injured," he said.

He said that the incident took place when pilgrims from Sitapur district were going to Purnagiri. "The deceased have been identified as Suman Devi (36), Ajit (15), Aditya (8), Ramgopal (48), Rohini (20), Pramod (30), Chutki (50), Shivshankar (48), Seema (30), Sudhanshu (7) and Sonavati (45)," he said.

He said that the injured have been admitted to the medical college. He said that on the complaint of the family members of the deceased a case has been lodged against the truck driver and further legal action was being taken.
