Uttar Pradesh: 3 policemen, including SI, suspended after taekwondo player was beheaded

Jaunpur (UP): Three policemen, including a sub-inspector, have been suspended after a taekwondo player was beheaded in the Gaurabad Shahpur area of Jaunpur district here in Uttar Pradesh, police sources said here on Thursday.
 
Police sources said that Superintendent of Police (SP) Dr Ajay Pal Sharma suspended SI Harish Chandra Prasad, constables Laxman Prasad, and Ankit Kumar late on Wednesday night.
 
The SP said that the investigation of the case has been handed over to SP City Arvind Kumar Verma, and other departmental action will also be taken after the report is received.
 
It may be noted that taekwondo player Anurag Yadav (16) was beheaded in Kabiruddin village on Wednesday during a dispute over Gram Samaj land. "The police detained one person after the incident," they said.
 
Earlier, District Magistrate Dr Dinesh Chandra had suspended Lekhpal Jagdish Yadav and wrote a letter to the government to take action against the then Kanoongo Munnilal.
