Pune: Dense to very dense fog in some pockets very likely over east Uttar Pradesh; at isolated pockets over Punjab, west Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Chandigarh.

Dense fog at isolated pockets over Uttarakhand, Bihar, north Madhya Pradesh, Sub Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya and Tripura.

Cold day to severe cold day conditions in some pockets very likely over east Uttar Pradesh; at isolated pockets over west Uttar Pradesh. Cold day conditions in some pockets over Bihar; at isolated pockets over Uttarakhand and Madhya Pradesh.

Cold wave to severe cold wave conditions in many pockets very likely over Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh; at isolated pockets over east Rajasthan. Cold wave conditions at isolated pockets over Uttar Pradesh, west Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Saurashtra and Kutch.

Ground frost conditions at isolated places very likely over Punjab, Haryana and north Rajasthan during next 24 hours.

Night temperatures were appreciably above normal (3.1 °C to 5.0 °C) at a few places over Jharkhand; at isolated places over Odisha; above normal (1.6 °C to 3.0 °C) at most places over Andaman and Nicobar Islands; at a few places over Telangana, north interior Karnataka, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam; at isolated places over Madhya Maharashtra, Assam and Meghalaya.

They were markedly below normal (-5.1 °C or below) at a few places over east Rajasthan; at isolated places over west Madhya Pradesh; appreciably below normal (-3.1 °C to -5.0 °C) at many places over Saurashtra and Kutch; at a few places over Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and east Madhya Pradesh; at isolated places over Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh and Bihar; below normal (-1.6 °C to -3.0 °C) at most places over Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat region; at a few places over Konkan, Goa, south interior Karnataka, Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim; at isolated places over Kerala, Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal and near normal over rest parts of the country.

Today, the lowest minimum temperature of 1.4 °C reported at Amritsar (Punjab) over the plains of the country.

Today, cold wave conditions observed in some pockets over west Madhya Pradesh and east Rajasthan; at isolated pockets over Uttarakhand, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, west Rajasthan and east Madhya Pradesh.

Yesterday, cold day to severe cold day conditions observed in many pockets of east Uttar Pradesh; at isolated pockets over west Uttar Pradesh. Cold day conditions observed in some pockets of Bihar and Madhya Pradesh; at isolated pockets of east Rajasthan.

Fog observed (at 0830 hours IST of today): Dense to very dense fog observed at isolated pockets over east Uttar Pradesh; Dense fog at isolated pockets over Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, west Uttar Pradesh, north Madhya Pradesh, Sub Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and Bihar. Moderate fog observed at isolated pockets of Punjab and Tripura.

Visibility recorded (at 0830 hours IST of today) (200 metre or less): Tikamgarh, Hardoi and Gorakhpur-25 m each; Dehradun, Karnal, Meerut, Gwalior, Jhansi, Varanasi and Muzaffarpur-50 m each; Amritsar, Ambala, Pantnagar, Bareilly, Kanpur, Sultanpur, Banda, Nowgong, Churk, Damoh, Malda, Kailashahar and Agartala-200 m each.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at a few places in Andaman and Nicobar Islands and at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh.

Mainly dry weather has prevailed in Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar and Lakdhadweep. (UNI)
