West Bengal Assembly Polls: BJP ‘sankalp patra’ promises 33 pc reservation, free education, free transport for women

Kolkata: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday released Bharatiya Janata Party’s election manifesto or sankalpa patra (resolution) for the forthcoming assembly election in West Bengal promised a 33 percent reservation in jobs for women in West Bengal and free education for girls from KG to PG and implementation of 7th pay commission for state government servants.

The manifesto said all festivals to be celebrated, irrespective of religion, implementation of Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) for people who have been residing for past 70 years, to stop infiltration with strengthening border with setting up CCTV, fencing installation to checking in all entry points.

Rs 6,000 for fishermen every year as a grant, the refugee families will get Rs 10,000 every year, creating three AIIMS (hospitals), and creating a Sonar Bangla fund with Rs 11,000 crore.

Besides implementation of Ayushman Bharat Yojana, the party will implement Seventh Pay Commission effective in the state, free travel for women in public transport and setting up SIT investigation into political violence.

The manifesto, which was made after taking opinion of the people of all the 294 assembly constituencies across the state also promised to implement PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana with Rs 18,000 to be paid in one time and Rs 6000 every year to the 75 lakh farmers. (UNI)
