Woman gives birth in one-rupee clinic at Thane railway station

Thane:A 29-year-old woman travelling in a Mumbai-bound train gave birth to a baby boy  at one -rupee clinic at Maharashtra's Thane Railway station. 
  
One-rupee clinic CEO Dr Rahul Ghule said Subhanti Patra, traveling from Karjat to Parel, started having labor pains near Thane.Railway officials immediately informed in-charge Dr Salman Shaikh at the clinic, located on platform number 2 of Thane railway station at 0615 hrs. Subhanti was rushed to clinic and she delivered the boy at 0630 hrs.Both mother and  child are fine and have been shifted to hospital for further treatment, Dr Ghule added. 
  
"The clinic today proved its importance in an emergency medical situation. We thank the railway authorities for giving us the opportunity to run the emergency medical rooms via these one-rupee clinics," Dr Ghule added.The Central Railway sometime back  introduced the concept of such clinics at its major stations where  doctors provide consultation at a meager charge of Re 1.(UNI)
