Rae Bareli: Samajwadi Party president and former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday accused the state government of misusing the authority to implicate opposition leaders.
Talking to the reporters at the PWD guest house here, Akhilesh while referring to searches being conducted by the Income Tax Department at the residences of SP leaders, said, "If police will go in the Income Tax raids, what will happen to the country."
"Samajwadis are being jailed without any reason and legal facilities are not being offered in the prison," he alleged.
The former CM accused the government of misusing agencies. Citing West Bengal's example, he alleged that there too they misused government agencies, but the people there gave a befitting reply.
"You can understand the law and order situation very well when police will conduct IT raids," he said.
Referring to the murder of a lawyer in Kanpur on Friday, he said that this is 'thoko' (encounter) government which does not believe in law and order.
Taking a jibe at PM Narendra Modi, Akhilesh said PM took a dip in Ganga, but CM Yogi Adityanath did not, because he knew that the river was not cleaned.
He said that CM Yogi will not distribute laptops to students as he himself can't operate the one.
