New Delhi: AAP leader Kumar Vishwas, who was projected in the media as Rajya Sabha probables for the party, on Wednesday expressed his disappointment over the choice of the leadership.

After the party announced the names of Sanjay Singh and unknown Sushil Gupta and N D Gupta for the Rajya Sabha elections, Mr Vishwas said in an obvious reference to party chief Arvind Kejriwal, 'You have sacrificed me, but do not tamper with the body of a martyred soldier.'Sarcastically commenting on the choice of Mr Sushil Gupta and N D Gupta, he said the party leadership has chosen two persons, 'who were with the party movement and contributed to form the party.'

Mr Vishwas also remarked on lack of transparency and participation of workers in choice of Rajya Sabha nominees.Differences arose between Mr Vishwas and Mr Kejriwal when the former was accused of hob-nobbing with the BJP. Mr Vishwas had threatened to leave the party and under a peace formula he was made incharge of AAP Rajasthan. The state goes to the poll next year. Other AAP leaders, including Saurabh Bhardwaj and Alka Lamba expressed their satisfaction over the names of Sanjay Singh, but were non-committal on the selection of other two names.

Reacting to the AAP decision, Delhi Congress president Ajay Maken said Mr Sushil Gupta, who was in the Congress till then, approached him on November 28, 2017, to submit his resignation from the party.Asked why he was quitting, he said he had been assured a RS nomination, Maken said.In his tweet, he suggested that in less than 40 days Mr Sushil Gupta ...'Less than 40 days-Less said the better!, Otherwise,Sushil is a good man known for his charity!'.(UNI)
