Bengaluru:In a barbaric incident, three priests of a Muzarai temple in Mandya town were killed allegedly by miscreants and decamped after throwing an offertory box fixed in the Arakeshwara shrine .
According to Mandya police, the priests who were brutally done to death by the miscreants, were identified as Ganesh (35), Prakash (36) and Anand (33), who were guarding the temple.
The gory incident had shaken the residents of the Mandya town and the police had launched a massive man-hunt to arrest the culprits.All the three priests, were found murdered in the foreyard of the temple, the sources added.
K'taka CM announces Rs Five lakh each to family members of priests killed in Mandya
Bengaluru:Chief Minister B.S.Yeddiyurappa on Friday announced compensation of Rs five lakh to the family members of the three priests who were murdered on Thursday night in Mandya district.
In a tweet CM said that it was an unfortunate incident and condoled the deceased priest of Arakishwara temple and announced compensation to the family members.
He also instructed the police authorities to arrest the miscreants who not only killed priests but also decamped the temple money from hundi and take serious action against them.(UNI)
