35-yr-old son shot dead by father for not getting him a mobile phone

Kaushambi: A 35-year-old man was shot dead allegedly by his father over petty issue in Pipari area of Kaushambi district here in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday.

Police sources said that Shiv Narain Singh, a resident of Shahawanpur village, was asking his son Brijesh Singh to get him a mobile phone.

"The issue escalated so much on Tuesday that Shiv Narain shot Brijesh with his licenced weapon. Brijesh, who sustained bullet injury in the chest, died on the spot," they said.

Police sources said that on the complaint of Brijesh's wife Kiran, an FIR has been lodged against Shiv Narain.

The body has been sent for post-mortem, they said. (UNI)
