4-storey building collapses in Delhi, several feared trapped

New Delhi: A four-storey building collapsed in Sabzi Mandi in north Delhi’s Malka Ganj area on Monday morning around 11:30 am.

Two children were rescued from the debris and sent to hospital.

We suspect that more people are still feared trapped under debris, Atul Garg, Director, Delhi Fire Service said.

He further said seven fire tenders have been rushed to the spot for rescue operation. Delhi Police team has also reached for the rescues and relief work

The rescue teams are facing difficulties as debris is lying scattered around the narrow lane.

Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal tweeted regarding the incident, “The accident of building collapse in Sabzi Mandi area is very sad. Administration is doing relief and rescue operations and I am personally monitoring the situation through the district administration.” (Inputs from UNI)
