5-year-old crushed by tractor in Karnataka, 'shocked' driver commits suicide

Chamarajnagar: In a tragic incident, a five-year-old boy died after being mowed down by a tractor at Savakanahalli village in Gundlu pet Taluk in the district on Friday.

Police said that shocked after the accident, driver, who was steering the tractor, committed suicide.

The deceased five-year-old boy has been identified as Harsha while the tractor driver has been identified as Sunil (23). Sunil was reportedly pursuing Ph D in Journalism at Mysuru University.

According to the police, Harsha was watching an ongoing cricket tournament when he was mowed down by a tractor driven by Sunil. Critically injured Harsha was rushed to a local hospital for treatment where he breathed his last.

After receiving the news of Harsha's death, Sunil reportedly committed suicide at his house.

Further investigation into the matter is underway. (UNI)
