6 children find watery grave in Bihar

Patna: As many as six children were drowned in two separate incidents in West Champaran and Bhojpur districts of Bihar, official said Wednesday.

According to police, four children fell into a ditch filled with rain water under Mitiyaria police station area in West Champaran district while they were playing. All of them died in the incident, police said adding that bodies were fished out with assistance of local people.

The ditch was dug by a brick kiln owner which proved to be the death trap for the four children, police informed adding that matter was being investigated.

In another incident, two children met the watery grave in similar circumstances at Mahaveer Tola under Charpokhari police station area in Bhojpur district. Bodies were fished out and handed over to their families, police stated. All the deceased were in the age group of 6 to 11 years, police informed.
