New Delhi: The air quality in the national capital on Thursday plunged to 'severe' category from 'very poor', the India Meteorological Department (IMD) data showed.

According to the weather department, the overall air quality index (AQI) was recorded at 411.

The IMD, however, has forecast that the air quality is likely to improve in the next two days.

"Air quality in Delhi is likely to improve marginally in the next two days, but remain in the very poor category," the weather department said.
