Guntur (Andhra Pradesh): A stalker stabbed a girl and her mother with a surgical knife for rejecting his love proposal and later stabbed himself at Krishnanagar colony here on Wednesday.
Police said that the accused Dhramateja went to the flat of the victim Geethasai and picked up an argument.
Suddenly he attacked the girl with a surgical knife and stabbed her. When her mother came to rescue her daughter, he also stabbed her.
Later he stabbed himself and tried to jump from the first floor of the apartment. The neighbours overpowered him, tied his hands and handed him over to the police.
Police said that the accused Dharmateja and victim Geethasai worked at a private company in Visakhapatnam previously. He used to harass her in the name of love. When she informed the matter to her parents they asked her to quit the job and stay with them in Guntur.
However, the stalker had been harassing her over the phone since then. Today he barged into her flat when her father went out for morning walk and stabbed the girl and her mother.
The girl and her mother were admitted to a private hospital where their condition is said to be stable.
The accused was admitted to the Government General Hospital.
Pattabhipuram police arrested him and seized his mobile phone. (UNI)
