Death penalty for accused in rape and murder of 5-year-old girl

Hyderabad:MSJ Court Judge B Suresh Babu on Tuesday delivered judgment under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act–2012 by sentencing the accused Dinesh Kumar Dharne (23) with capital punishment (Death Penalty) and a fine of Rs 1000.
Facts of the case are that on December 12, 2017, at 1800 hrs a complaint was lodged at Narsingi Police Station by the mother of the victim, in which she stated that on December 12, 2017, at about 1200 hrs, the accused Dinesh Kumar Dharne had taken the complainant’s 5-years-old daughter from the Kirana shop on the guise of providing chocolate.
 
Later, he alone returned to the labour camp on which she questioned him about her daughter. In reply, he told that he dropped her at the labour camp sometime before and she might be playing somewhere.
 
The accused had taken the victim girl from nearby tea shop on the guise of providing chocolate committed rape and murder in the bushes beside the compound wall of Sri Shirdi Sai Prem Samaj Hospital, Narsingh village.
 
After committing the offence, the accused returned to a labour camp and joined in the crowd at the labour camp and acted as a spectator when the parents were searching for their daughter.
Further, when the mother of the victim questioned the accused about her daughter, on that accused Dinesh Kumar Dharne told her that some time before only he dropped her at Labour camp and she might be playing somewhere.
 
The accused was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on December 13, 2017.The Police did a detailed investigation and after the reconstruction of the scene of the offence, they zeroed upon the said accused. Then, the Police raided his room and brought him to the Police Station and on thorough interrogation, he confessed to having committed this offence.
 
The case was investigated by Mr Ramana Goud, the then Inspector, Narsingi Police Station and Mr N Shyam Prasad Rao, the then Asst Commissioner of Police, Madhapur Division, the release added.(UNI)
