New Delhi: Delhi Congress President Ajay Maken today announced his resignation from the post owning moral responsibility for the performance of the party in Delhi Municipal elections. Talking to the reporters here, Mr Maken said, though Congress was beginning to retain its traditional vote-bank but still he expected better performance by the party.

"I thank my party for giving me full freedom to work and I will not, for one year, accept any post but work as a disciplined soldier of the party," Mr Maken said as trends of the results showed that the BJP was all set to trample the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party in the MCD polls with the Congress sliding to a third position.
