Election Commission appoints folk singer Maithili Thakur as Icon of Bihar

Patna: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has appointed folk singer Maithili Thakur as the State Icon for Bihar.

Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) said here on Monday that the Commission has appointment of Maithili Thakur, Folk Singer as the State icon of Bihar for the sweep activities taken up to sensitise the voters.

Through its letter, the Election Commission of India apprised the local office about the appointment, the CEO informed. (UNI)
