Thane: A 47-year-old man from Navi Mumbai, has been arrested for alleged molestation and repeated rape on his minor daughters, the police said on Tuesday.
As per the police, the three girls aging 12, 13 and 17 years, have complaint about their ordeal, following which their father, hailing from Belapur and working as a driver, was arrested.
The girls were living alone with their father as their mother had passed away few years ago. As per the girls, they were being molested and abused for years.
The police officer said that the girls were extremely frustrated and in deep pain and approached the police to file the complaint.
The accused has been charged under the IPC sections 354 (outrage modesty), 376 (punishment for sexual assault) and POCSO Act, the police said.
The police said they are also verifying the allegation that the accused is associated with a political party.
The accused is in the police custody following the remand by the court. (UNI)
