Hyderabad: The larger-than-life size statue of Colonel Santosh Babu who was killed in clashes with Chinese troops in Galwan in Ladakh a year ago was unveiled at the Court Centre in Suryapet town in Telangana on Tuesday.
Municipal Administration Minister K.T. Rama Rao along with Energy Minister G. Jagadish Reddy unveiled the nine-feet bronze statue amid emotional scenes.
The junction where the statue is installed has been named after the martyred colonel as Col. Santosh Babu "chowrastha".
A large number of people, some of them with tears in their eyes, raised slogans like "Santosh Babu Amar Rahe".
The family members of Col. Santosh Babu also attended the function. (UNI)
