New Delhi:Indian national Kulbhushan Jadhav, who has been given death sentence by an Army court in Pakistan on charges of espionage, can apply against the judgement within 60 days, Pakistan Defence Minister Khwaja Asif told the Senate in Islamabad today.

The Pakistan Defence Minister, while justifying the sentence to Jadhav, said his 'confessional statement’’ gives out all details on which the sentence had been given, but India has said Pakistan Army had no evidence at all against Jadhav.

'Whether the enemies come from across the border or within Pakistan, they will receive punishment,’’ Khwaja Asif said, even as New Delhi rejected all charges regarding its national, and Parliament came out with a strong condemnation of the Pakistan Army Court judgement with warning by External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj of the ‘’ consequences’’ for ‘’bilateral relations,’’ if the sentence was carried out. India had yesterday said that if the death sentence against Jadhav was carried out, it would amount to ‘’premeditated murder’’.

New Delhi has also strongly protested denial of consular access to Jadhav sought by the Indian High Commission in Islamabad. Pakistan says that Jadhav was an agent of India’s external spy agency RAW and was trying to destablise the Balochistan province. India dismisses all these charges saying Jadhav, a retired Navy man, had business in Iranian town of Chabahar from where it was picked up by ISI. (UNI)
