Kochi: Kerala High Court on Tuesday refused to entertain a habeas corpus petition seeking repatriation of Nimisha alias Fathima who is lodged in a prison in Afghanistan as she left Kerala to join the Islamic State a few years ago.

Justice K Vinodchandran pointed out technical issues while rejecting the petition.

Bindu, the mother of Fathima, filed the petition before the court seeking repatriation of her daughter and granddaughter who are in Afghanistan jail.

In the petition, Bindu said my daughter and granddaughter are not linked to any IS activities now. So the court should direct the government to take action for repatriating them.

Rejecting the plea, the court informed that the complainant can approach the single bench if necessary.

Following this, Bindu withdrew the habeas corpus petition. (UNI)
