Srinagar:Lakes and Waterway Development Authority (LAWDA) has demolished several illegal construction in and around the world famous Dal Lake, official sources said on Tuesday.
"LAWDA launched a demolishing drive at Ashiyee Bagh, Sada Kadal, Nigeen, Choudhary Bagh, Habbak, Shalimar and Kanikat on Monday," they added.
During the drive many illegal shops and other structures were demolished despite resistance from the local residents.LAWDA officials said the drive will continue against these illegal constructions.
Meanwhile, people questioned officials that when these illegal constructions were going on why did they not act and have demanded action against those who failed to discharge their duties on time.(UNI)
