Satna: An elderly woman was hacked to death with a sharp-edged weapon in Satna district of Madhya Pradesh, police said on Sunday.
The police sources said Minta Adivasi was killed by axe blows in a village under Khohi gram panchayat under the Baraundha police station area. The victim was sleeping in her hut near the field when the incident occurred.
The identity of the killer and the motive behind the murder are unknown.
The police have registered a case and are investigating the matter.
