Malayalam actor, nominated RS member Suresh Gopi joins BJP

NewDelhi: Popular Malayalam actor and nominated Rajya Sabha member Suresh Gopi today joined the BJP. Mr Gopi joined the party in presence of Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi at his residence here. Apart from Mr Naqvi, party national general secretary Bhupendra Yadav and Jharkhand Minister C P Singh were also present.

Welcoming Mr Gopi into the party, Mr Naqvi said that with the joining of Suresh Gopi, the party will be further strengthened in Kerala. Suresh Gopinathan popularly known as Suresh Gopi, in April this year, was nominated to the Upper House by the President under the eminent citizens as per the provision of Article 80 of the Constitution. Besides, being an actor, 57-year-old, Mr Gopi is also a philanthropist, social worker, and an environmentalist. (UNI)
