Patna: The alleged mistrust between JD (U) and BJP came into sharp focus once again when it was revealed that the state government was collecting information on office bearers of Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh (RSS) and 18 other organisations.

Bihar Special Branch Department’s police superintendents in his letter dated May 28 had directed all deputy police superintendents and others officers of the special department to submit a report on office bearers of RSS, Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Bajarang Dal, Hindu Jagaran Samiti, Dharm Jagaran Samanvaya Samiti, Muslim Rashriya Manch, Hindu Rashtra Sena, Rashtriya Sevika Samiti, Shiksha Bharati, Durga Vahini, Swadeshi Jagaran Manch, Bharatiya Kisan Sangh, Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, Bharatiya Railway Sangh, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Sangh, Akhil Bharatiya Shikshak Mahasangh, Hindu Mahasabha, Hindu Yuva Vahini and Hindu Putra Sanghathan within one week.

With the revelation, state politics went on an overdrive for one more time.

BJP leaders strongly objected to the state government’s move. Leaders of Chief Minister led JD (U) were, however, reluctant to speak on the issue apparently to avoid any adverse impact of it on the relationship between two ruling allies.

Spotting an opportunity to fish in troubled waters, constituents of grand alliance- Congress and RJD welcomed Nitish government’s move.  (UNI)
