Sakshi Malik ends India's medal drought, wins bronze in women's wrestling

Rio De Janeiro:India's hunt for a medal in the ongoing Rio Olympics finally came to an end today as Sakshi Malik outplayed Aisuluu Tynybekova 8-5 in the 58kg freestyle wrestling bronze medal bout here today.In the dying minutes of the game, the Rohtak girl showcased a three-point move to seal the maiden medal for India in the ongoing tournament.
 


Sakshi earlier trailed by 0-5 to her opponent in the first round however, with some terrific skills, the 24-year-old wrestler changed the game to her favour making it 8-5.Earlier, Sakshi reached the Repechage rounds of this category after she outplayed Orkhon from Mongolia 12-3 in the Round 2 contest.(UNI)
