Section 144 imposed in Bilaspur district till Thursday evening

Bilaspur (HP): In view of the assembly elections in Bilaspur district, section 144 will remain in force from 5 pm on 10 November to 5 pm on 13 November. This order was issued by District Election Officer and District Magistrate Pankaj Rai today.

According to the order, there will be a ban on the gathering and moving of more than 5 persons during this period. There will also be a ban on organizing illegal gatherings and public meetings in district Bilaspur.

He said that in pursuance of the Standing Operating Procedure issued by the Election Commission of India, the last 48 hours before the election are of utmost importance not only from the point of view of the planning of the polling day but also from the point of view of law and order and friendly building. Section 144 has been used for free and fair voting.

This order will not apply to jawans of HP home guards, armed and paramilitary forces, police personnel, or security guards of scheduled banks.Apart from this, there will be no restriction on door-to-door campaigning by people of political parties during this period.(UNI)
