Bengaluru: Karnataka Home Minister Araga Jnanendra on Monday assured to form a special police squad to curb love jihad incidents.

The assurance was given after pro-Hindu organization's delegation met the minister at his official residence and submitted an appeal in this regard.

Janendra said his government has taken the menace of love jihad seriously and steps would be taken to curb it.

Concerned about the growing incidents of religious conversion despite the existing laws to prevent it, the Hindu outfits urged Jnanendra to set a special squad on the line of Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh.

The Hindu organizations also raised concern about Shaheen Bagh gang in Karnataka and the presence of Moulavis and Madrasas, instigating such crimes. (UNI)
