Two militants neutralized by security forces in Kupwara

Srinagar: An encounter ensued between militants and security forces in the frontier district of Kupwara early this morning, official sources said. A security jawan was injured in the incident so far, they said. They said security forces and Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police, on a tip-off about the presence of militants, launched a search operation at Hayhama Batapora in Kupwara.

However, when the security forces were sealing the area and moving towards a particular area in the village, militants hiding in a house resorted to indiscriminate firing. Security forces also retaliated and in the encounter so far a security jawan was injured. Sources said two to three militants are hiding in the area..out of which two were neutralized. (UNI)
