New Delhi: President Donald Trump will be talking to Prime Minister Narendra Modi later today, the White House announced. The conversation between two leaders will be among several between Mr Trump and other world leaders. Since taking over as the US President on January 20, the new US President has already spoken with the leaders of Egypt, Israel, Canada and Mexico.

He is also likely to host a visit of British Prime Minister Theresa May later this week. The tele-dialogue between President Trump and Prime Minister Modi comes at a time when Trump's new policy moves on immigration issue has generated concern in India’s outsourcing industry and the visa programme that companies use to hire workers to the US. Last week, former Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper has said that under Mr Trump's dispensation, Washington would be able to work closely with the Indian Government. (UNI)
