Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) have unearthed assets worth Rs 4,56,66,660, including a net cash amount of Rs 2.07 crore, from a Tahsildar in Telangana.
 
An ACB press release on Tuesday stated that a case of Disproportionate Assets had been registered against Manchiredddy Mahender Reddy, Tahsildar of Marrigudem Mandal, Nalgonda District, residing at Plot No. 16, H. No: 8-7-55/A/16, Road No.1, Shiridi Sai Nagar, Hastinapuram, B.N Reddy Nagar, Ranga Reddy District.
 
He was found to have acquired assets disproportionate to his known sources of income through corrupt practices and dubious means during his service.
 
As this offense is punishable under U/s 13(1)(b) and 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (as amended in 2018), ACB officers have registered an FIR and conducted searches at his residence and various other locations.

During the search operation, movable and immovable properties worth approximately Rs 4,56,66,660 were seized, including a net cash amount of Rs 2.07 crore.
 
The accused officer was being arrested and will be produced before the First Additional Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, the release added. (UNI)
