Woman's throat slit by in-laws over dowry in UP’s Sambhal

Sambhal: A woman was murdered allegedly by her in-laws for dowry in Hayat Nagar area, police sources said here on Friday.

Police sources said Sahiba got married to Salman, a resident of Kamangar village, last year. "On Thursday night Sahiba was killed by slitting her throat. On Friday morning when Sahiba's family members reached the spot after getting the news they found that her in-laws were absconding," they said.

Police sources said that Sahiba's father Zarif has alleged that her in-laws used to harass her for dowry and he lodged a complaint, but proper action was not taken by the police.

"The victim's body has been sent for post mortem and efforts are being made to nab Sahiba's in-laws," they said. (UNI)
