Nitish fraction recognised as real JD(U), allotted 'Arrow' symbol

New Delhi: The Election Commission on Friday recognized the party led by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar as the real JD(U) and allotted the ‘Arrow’ symbol to it.

The Commission in its order on the dispute said the group led Mr Kumar had ‘’demonstrated overwhelming majority support in the legislature wing as well as the majority in the National Council of the Party which is the Apex level organisational body of the Party.’’Accordingly, it said, ‘’the group led by Mr Kumar is hereby recognised as the Janata Dal (United) in terms of Paragraph-'l5 of the Symbols Order.’’Consequently, Election Commission said, the group led by Mr Kumar was entitled to use the reserved symbol 'Arrow' of the Party ‘’as a recognised State Party in Bihar.’’(UNI)
