They call it Selfie fever for a reason and the recent incident will prove that Selfiemania is almost a paranoia now!

In Bengaluru, a 17-year-old drowned in a pond as his friends were busy taking selfies. Nobody noticed or heard anything. They were too engrossed. Or deaf for the death of their own friend!

They returned back without noticing the absence of their friend. Later while looking at the pictures, they spotted a drowing head. It was of their friend. Later his body was found from the spot!

The name of the student is Vishwas G. He was a student of the National College. He drowned in a pond at Ramagondlu Betta of Kanakapura at Ramanagara district around 40 kilometres from Bengaluru. Kaggalipura police said that Vishwas is a resident of Hanumantha Nagar in South Bengaluru and he was on an outing with other cadets of the National College when they entered the pond.

"We had finished swimming and left for the Gundanjaneya temple and did not notice Vishwas' absence. One of the students was replaying his selfie photos and noticed Vishwas drowning being captured in the frame," Sumanta A, a student, told the media later!

Vishwas' parents have accused the college authorities of ignoring the safety of students. But it was too late already in their case!
