Dubai: Bangladesh beat Pakistan by 37 runs to set up a final clash with India, here at the Asia Cup on Wednesday.
Unfortunately, Mushfiqur missed his seventh century by just one run, striking nine boundaries in his 99-runs innings off 116 balls. Later, he was dismissed by Shahin Afridi on a score of 197 in the 42nd over, as Tigers were bowled out for 239 in the Asia Cup Super Four clash.
In the chase, Pakistan lost the wickets of Fakhar Zaman, Babar Azam and captain Sarfraz Ahmed early and were struggling at 18-3 in the fourth over.
Opener Imam fought hard by scoring 83 but Bangladesh bowlers never lost control. Seamer Mustafizur Rahman picked up 4-43 to lead Bangladesh's victory charge.
Earlier, after winning the toss, Bangladesh started to lose their wicket one after another and three batsmen were sent to pavilion. But Mushfikur Rahim and Mohammed Mithun's 100-run partnership for the fourth wicket and pulled out Bangladesh from worst situation.
Mithun made 60 runs with the help of four fours from 84 balls. He was dismissed on a score of 156. Mahmudullah scored 25 runs off 31 balls, Mehidy Hasan made 12 runs off 11 balls and captain Mashrafe Mortaza scored 13 runs off 13 balls to give Bangladesh 239.
