Bangladesh Officials hold meeting ahead of India's first Pink Ball Test at Eden Gardens

Kolkata: Bangladesh Deputy High Commissioner Toufique Hasan and team were  today impressed with Cricket Association of Bengal after their recee  ahead of India's first Pink Ball Test at Eden Gardens.

















 
CAB Secretary Avishek Dalmiya, Vice President Naresh Ojha, Jt. Secy Debabrata Das, Treasurer Debashis Ganguly and other CAB officials were present at the meeting.
       
The representatives from Bangladesh included Deputy High Commissioner Toufique Hasan, Counsellor, Education and Sports, Shaikh Shafiul Imam, Counsellor Md. Bashir Uddin and First Secretary (Political) Shamima Yeasmin Smrite.
       
CAB Secretary said, "It's an historic event and we will try to make it special and memorable in every way possible. After almost two decades India-Bangladesh test match is going to be played here. We are making sure that everything is arranged well for Hon'ble Bangladesh Prime Minister."
       
The agenda of the meeting was to see the preparations and exchange ideas to make it a classy affair when Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina visits Eden Gardens on November 22 to watch the first day of the second test between India and Bangladesh.
       
Bangladesh Deputy High Commissioner Toufique Hasan said after the meeting, "We are satisfied with all the preparations."
       
CAB Secretary Avishek Dalmiya said, "We had a long, detailed and very meaningful meeting. The representatives of Bangladesh High Commission were briefed and all their queries taken care of."
       
On the first day Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina and Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee will ring the Eden Bell together. They will be accompanied by BCCI President Sourav Ganguly, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah, Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Naimur Rehman, BCB President Nazmul Hasan along with CAB office bearers.
       
"Following the first day's play the players who played the first Test between India and Bangladesh will be felicitated followed by speeches given by the dignitaries," Avishek added.
       
In the break, there are plans for a chat show featuring the fabulous five Sourav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Anil Kumble and VVS Laxman. There will also be a felicitation of some breast cancer survivors.(UNI)
