Dubai:Delhi Capitals speedster Ishant Sharma will miss the remaining 13th edition of IPL matches due to injury in his left rib cage, the franchise confirmed on Monday.Ishant played only one match in the tournament which was against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
"Delhi Capitals fast bowler Ishant Sharma experienced an acute episode of left rib cage pain while bowling at a team training session on October 7, 2020 in Dubai. Subsequent investigations revealed that he sustained a left internal oblique muscle tear," franchise said in a statement.
"This injury will unfortunately rule him out of the remainder of the Dream11 Indian Premier League 2020. Everyone at Delhi Capitals wishes Ishant a speedy recovery," the statement added.
Leg-spinner Amit Mishra was also earlier ruled out of the IPL due to injury. Wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant is also facing injury issue and will remain out of action for for one week.(UNI)
