Kolkata: Bengal pacer Ashok Dinda was hit on his forehead during Bengal's Twenty20 practice game for Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy here at the Eden Gardens on Monday.The incident took place while attempting a catch on his follow through of his own bowling as opener Birender Vivek Singh played an uppish straight drive shot.
After the incident, Dinda laid on the ground with his hands on his forehead and his teammates rushed to help him. Later, a medical staff also attended to him at the ground. However, Dinda bowled a couple of deliveries after that but later he was sent for scan at a city hospital.
Meanwhile, the doctors said, injury was not serious and the cricketer was fine."We did not find anything major in his scan report. He has been advised two days rest," hospital reports said.
The 2011 Syed Mushtaq Ali champions Bengal open their domestic T20 campaign against Mizoram in their group D fixture at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack on February 21.(UNI)
