Capetown: England displayed a clinical performance against the host south africa and won the 1st T20 by 5 wickets. Studded with the power hitters, England managed to chase a decent target of 181 with 5 balls remaining.
Chasing the target of 181 runs England had a horrible start as south African origin batsman Jason Roy was caught behind on the delivery of Linde. Hosts were all over England as they scalped 3 wickets in the power play. However Johnny Bairstow had other plans. The batsman scored swashbuckling innings of 86 runs in 48 balls with 9 fours and 4 sixes.

Earlier the host too had a poor start when Opener Bavuma was caught behind by butler by Sam Curran. The two most experienced batsman of proteas Skipper Quinton De Kock and Faf Du Plessis put on a 77 run partnership which helped the host to put a fighting total of 180 on the board (WD)
