Virat Kohli is renowned as one of the most famous, discussed, and beloved cricketers globally. Here's an intriguing fact: Virat Kohli is the highest taxpayer among Indian cricketers, and the amount he pays might astonish you.

In the fiscal year 2023-24, Kohli paid a staggering Rs 66 crore in taxes. To put this into perspective, his tax contribution surpasses the combined salaries of several Pakistani cricketers. Kohli's net worth is estimated to be over Rs 1,050 crore.

Following Kohli on the list of top taxpayers in Indian cricket is former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who paid Rs 38 crore in taxes. He is followed by Sachin Tendulkar, often hailed as the God of Cricket, who paid Rs 28 crore. Sourav Ganguly paid Rs 23 crore, Hardik Pandya paid Rs 13 crore, and Rishabh Pant paid Rs 10 crore.



Kohli also ranks fifth among Indian celebrities in terms of tax payments. The top spot in this category is held by actor and co-owner of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) Shahrukh Khan, who paid Rs 92 crore. He is followed by Thalapathy Vijay with Rs 80 crore, Salman Khan with Rs 75 crore, and Amitabh Bachchan with Rs 71 crore.

Last year, several Pakistani players accused the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) of failing to pay their salaries for five months. At that time, Zaka Ashraf was the chairman of the PCB.
