Rahul Dravid has donned many roles in the cricket world: player, captain, mentor of the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL, Director of the National Cricket Academy (NCA) and head coach of both the Under-19 and senior Indian teams. Now it seems he might be eyeing a new role one with a Bollywood debut and Who knows? The big screen might be the next pitch for the Wall!

At the recent CEAT Cricket Awards, during a Q&A session, Dravid humorously addressed the possibility of a biopic on his life. When asked who he’d like to play him in such a film, the 51-year-old responded with a smile, “If the money is good enough, I’ll play it myself.”
Dravid’s humorous remarks have gained traction recently. After the T20 World Cup victory he joked about being "unemployed" and invited offers for new opportunities.

Since retiring from international cricket in 2012, Dravid has remained deeply involved in the Cricket world. He led the Rajasthan Royals to the Champions League T20 final and IPL playoffs in 2013 and served as their mentor between 2014 and 2015. During that time he also mentored Team India for their 2014 tour of England. Dravid was later appointed head coach of the India Under-19 and India A teams. In 2016 he also took on the role of mentor for the Delhi IPL team.

Dravid didn't get a chance to play the World Cup in India, but got to enjoy and experience the incredible atmosphere as a coach during the 2023 ODI World Cup last year.

"To travel all over this country and to be able to experience that joy and passion of the fans. I’ve never been a part of a World Cup as a player in India, but just the experience as a coach to go from city to city and just walk and see what this game meant to the people of this country was phenomenal. It was incredible,” Dravid said.

India advanced to the final with 9 consecutive wins but lost to Australia in the title match. Reflecting on the campaign, Dravid commented,“I thought we ran a phenomenal campaign. We came unstuck in the final and Australia played better cricket than us on the day. They were a better team and congratulations (to them). That can happen in sport and that’s what sport is about,”
